    Managing OpenStack project access

In this article, we show how to grant a user access to an OpenStack project. You can do this in two ways: via the project overview and via the user overview. Both methods are explained step by step in this article.

    Step 1

Log in to the control panel and select ‘OpenStack’ in the left-hand menu. You’ll land on the project overview. Click the name of the OpenStack project here.

    Step 2

At the top, select ‘Projects’ or ‘Users’ and follow the corresponding steps below to manage access via the project or user overview.

    Manage via the project overview

    Step 3

Under ‘Access management’ you’ll see an overview of your users. Click ‘Grant access’ on the right-hand side to add a user.

The default user always has access to the project. This is the user that is created automatically when the OpenStack project is ordered.

    Step 4

Click the ‘+’ icon and select the desired OpenStack user to add them to the project.

You have now added the OpenStack user to the OpenStack project via the project overview. You’ll find the user immediately under ‘Access management’.

    Manage via the user overview

    Step 3

Click the ellipsis button (…) next to the OpenStack user to whom you want to grant access to the OpenStack project. In the menu that appears, choose ‘Assign access’.

    Step 4

Add the user to an OpenStack project. Use the search field to find the project name. This is especially helpful when you have multiple projects.

Under ‘Access management’ you now see the projects the user has access to.

That brings us to the end of this article, where we explained how to grant a user access to an OpenStack project via the project overview and via the user overview.
