I want to set up nameservers for my domain

When you want to set up nameservers for your domain, then you have 3 options:

  • The default TransIP nameservers
  • External nameservers of your hostingprovider / Your own nameservers
  • Your own nameservers with the TransIP nameservers as secondary

The TransIP default nameservers
When your domainname is registered with TransIP, then you can use our nameservers free of charge. Usually these nameservers will be set for your domain by default. Click here for more information about the TransIP nameservers.

External nameservers of your hostingprovider / Your own nameservers
When you have a hostingpackage with another company and they allow you to use their nameservers you can opt to use these nameservers. Similarly if you have your own nameservers, you can use them for your domain. Instead of the default TransIP nameservers you can set up these external nameservers. Click here for more information about using external nameservers.

Your own nameservers with the TransIP nameservers as secondary
You can use your own nameservers and set up the default TransIP nameservers as secondary nameservers. This way our nameservers will keep your domain online even if your own nameservers can not be reached for any reason. Click here for more information.

In this article we discussed the options you have for setting up nameservers for your domain.
