Kubernetes releases new versions every month with bug fixes and new features. We therefore recommend updating your Kubernetes cluster regularly. You can easily do this from the TransIP Control Panel in just a few steps.
Step 1
In the TransIP Control Panel, select ‘Kubernetes’ and then choose the cluster you wish to update.

Step 2
Click the ellipsis button (…) next to ‘Download Kubeconfig’ and select ‘Upgrade cluster’.
If no new version is available, the ‘Upgrade cluster’ button will be disabled.

Step 3
Click ‘Select version’: you will now see three versions available for upgrade:
- If the version you’re running is an older minor release (e.g. 1.31.4), you’ll see newer minor releases in later versions (e.g. 1.33.0 and 1.33.1) AND an upgrade within your current release (e.g. 1.31.5).
- If you’re on the latest series (e.g. 1.33), you’ll see the newest minor releases in that series, if available—such as 1.33.1, 1.33.2 and 1.33.3 when you’re on 1.33.0.
Select the desired Kubernetes version and click ‘Upgrade now’.

That’s it! Your cluster will now be automatically upgraded in under a minute.
