In this article, you will learn how to set up your email address with TransIP in New Outlook. If you're not sure which version of Outlook you're using, check the page 'Which version of Outlook do I have?' for more information.
Don't have an email address yet? With the E-mail Only packages and web hosting packages from TransIP, you can easily create email addresses.
To use email through our web hosting packages and E-mail Only packages, it's important that your domain name uses the correct DNS settings.
If your domain name uses the TransIP settings, this is done automatically. If you manage your domain's DNS yourself, make sure you use the MX, TXT, and CNAME records of your web hosting package.

Setting up your email address in New Outlook
- If you haven't previously set up an email address, you can add an email account right after opening Outlook (Step 1).
- Have you already created an email address in New Outlook before? Click ‘Add account’ below your inbox(es), or click on the gear icon (1) at the top right -> ‘Accounts’ (2) -> 'Add account' (3).
Step 1
Enter your email address and click 'Continue'.
Step 2
You will now first be asked to enter the password for your email address. Then click on ‘Show more’ so that you can also enter the server settings.
My server details are already filled in
It’s possible that your server settings are already correctly filled in. This means your domain name uses the The DNS settings of your web hosting package.
The DNS settings of your web hosting package include a DNS record called 'autoconfig'. This DNS record allows Outlook to automatically retrieve the correct server details for your email address. This means you only need to enter the password for your email address.
Now enter the following information:
Incoming email
- IMAP Incoming server: imap.transip.email
- Port: 993
- Secure connection type: SSL/TLS
Outgoing email
- SMTP username: Enter your email address here
- SMTP password: Enter the password for your email address here
- SMTP Outgoing server: smtp.transip.email
- Port: 465
- Secure connection type: SSL/TLS
After entering your password and server details, click 'Continue'. Your email address is now set up!
