Object Store
Scalable storage for backups, media, and more
S3- & SWIFT support
3× replicated storage
Your data is automatically distributed across three availability zones.
Securely hosted in the Netherlands
Your data is stored on Dutch soil and meets ISO 27001, ISO 9001, and NEN 7510 standards.
What is Object Store?
Object Store gives you a single, central, non-hierarchical storage environment. There’s no need to plan capacity in advance; you only pay for the data you actually store. This avoids fixed storage blocks and eliminates unused space.
Access Object Store directly from your applications, scripts, or CLI via the S3-API or the OpenStack Swift-API.
Pay-per-storage
With Object Store, you only pay for the storage you use and for outgoing data traffic. Incoming traffic and API requests are free.
There’s no need to reserve fixed storage blocks in advance, so you don’t pay for unused capacity. Pricing automatically scales with the amount of data you actually store and transfer.
Get started fast with Object Storage
With Object Storage, you get the space to store any amount of data, whether backups, media, or application data, without having to make any upfront decisions about capacity or structure.
After your order, our support team will reach out to help you get started, so you can start using it right away.
Combine Object Store with VPS or Public Cloud
You can use Object Store as a stand-alone product or together with other products.
With Public Cloud you can use your Object Store as part of your cloud environment, for example by integrating it yourself:
- Storage voor back-ups, logs and datasets
- Data-storage for OpenStack-applications
- Manage everything centrally from your control panel
With VPS you can store your media, backups, and application data externally:
- Connect applications directly via the S3 API
How does Object Store work in the control panel?
Object Store is part of the OpenStack ecosystem, so you manage it through the OpenStack section of your control panel. The key functions of the control panel are managing access and tokens, while objects themselves are managed via the API or CLI.
Why Object Store?
Datasets are growing so fast today that traditional storage can’t keep up. Backups, media, and log files are scattered across multiple systems and piling up. This not only costs more money but also more time to manage and keep all that data accessible. API access is often limited, and scaling up is possible, but usually only manually.
Object Store solves this in one go. All your data stays centrally available for your applications, without having to overhaul your systems. Simple, flexible, and future-proof.
When do you use Object Storage?
Back-ups en archiving
Store critical data securely for the long term. Object Storage is ideal for this because objects can be stored non-hierarchically and at scale, without needing to plan disk space yourself. Backups and archives remain accessible via the S3 or Swift API, making them easy to retrieve or replace whenever needed.
Big Data & Analytics
Object Storage provides scalable storage for large datasets. Because data is stored as objects, you can work without limitations on size or folder structures. This makes it an ideal storage layer for data processing, log files, or datasets that are analyzed periodically.
Media-storage and static content
Host images, videos, and other static files used by your applications or websites. Object Store provides scalable and redundant storage for this purpose.
Application integration
Store application data in Object Store and access it directly via the S3 or Swift API from your software, services, or pipelines. This allows you to programmatically create, update, or delete objects without relying on the local disk space of a VPS or server.
Certifications
TransIP holds multiple certifications that add value regardless of which products you use. In addition, our Public Cloud product is specifically ISAE 3000 certified.
