DKIM error when sending mail via the mail service

Are you using the VPS mail service and getting the error "DKIM records appear to be not configured correctly for <hostname>. Please see https://www.transip.eu/knowledgebase/entry/349 for more information."? This error means the corresponding DKIM records cannot be found by our mail servers.

vps mailservice x-auth-record

There are three possible causes for this problem:

  • You configured your DNS correctly, but the DNS changes have not been propegated globally yet. It takes a maximum of 24 hours (usually less) before the changes have taken affect globally due to the global processing time of DNS changes. Unfortunately we have no influence on the time this takes.

  • The DNS records are misconfigured. To solve this, it's best to check that the mentioned DNS record has been added to your (sub)domain correctly. For configuring the DNS-records used by the mail service you can use this article. Is it a subdomain? You can then use this article for configuring its DNS.

  • You are sending mails from another domain then the one you configured the DNS for. You can check this by checking the domain that is listed in the <hostname> part of the error. If this is the case, check the configuration of your mail server and client and ensure you are using the correct domain.

@mkraav,

We've fixed the links in the article, which will be visible once it's been processed by our caching systems. As for the records; it looks like you used the value to set the DKIM names. The correct name of the first record in your case is transip-a._domainkey.history.ee (or transip-a._domainkey if the domain is registered with us) and its value is _dkim-a.transip.email. Should you run into problems after changing the records, could you send a message to our support department using the 'Contact us' button below this article?

I can't get mail out of server. There is "DKIM records appear to be not configured correctly for 'history.ee'" in log-file. On this page you suggest to read 2 articles, which are not in english, so, I can't read them.

I have configured nameserver for months ago, so, problem must be with configuration:

history.ee. IN A 136.144.202.222 www.history.ee. IN CNAME history.ee. rudis.history.ee. IN CNAME history.ee. transip-a._domainkey.history.ee. IN CNAME _dkim-a.transip.email.history.ee. transip-b._domainkey.history.ee. IN CNAME _dkim-b.transip.email.history.ee. transip-c._domainkey.history.ee. IN CNAME _dkim-c.transip.email.history.ee.

What is wrong or what should I do?

All the best!
